– metal lodged in ear

Doctors at the Georgetown Public Hospital were last evening operating on the ear of a young girl which had a piece of metal lodged in it after she was shot reportedly with an arrow.

The child, aged three years old, who hails from Kamarang in Region Seven, was said to have been airlifted to the city yesterday from her community and subsequently admitted to the Georgetown Hospital.

Hospital sources told this newspaper that a piece of iron was lodged in the girl’s ear and that doctors were forced to operate on the girl in an attempt to remove the object.

Up to press time last evening, this newspaper was unable to ascertain whether the object had been successfully removed.
