Out of control vehicle caused Diamond death

Police are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man in a vehicular accident and are asking persons who may be able to identify him to contact the police station.

In a press release yesterday, the police said that they are investigating a fatal accident which occurred on Tuesday at about 19.45hrs on the Diamond Access Road, EBD.

Investigations revealed that the man was struck by the car after the driver lost control of the vehicle which ended up in a trench. The man was then taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

While the driver is in police custody assisting with the investigations, another passenger of the car is recovering in the Georgetown Public Hospital. Alicia Wahab was transferred to the GPHC after being initially treated at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre.

Meanwhile, according to the police the deceased is of East Indian descent, is about six feet in height and is around 50 years old. He was wearing a blue tee shirt with long white pants and a pair of brown sandals at the time of the accident.
