Ansa McAl Trading has donated $155,000 to the University of Guyana Pamela Bourne ‘Donate a tree’ Environmental Project.
In a press release the company’s Public Relations Officer Darshanie Yussuf said it views involvement in the project “as a positive step in preserving and ultimately enhancing UG’s environs as it strives to achieve higher standards.”
UG Vice-Chancellor Lawrence Carrington expressed gratitude to Ansa McAl for the gesture. He said UG sees it as “an important beginning for our relationship,” adding that the university is looking forward to partnering with the company on other “green ideas.”
The ceremony was hosted in the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
