Promoter accused of damaging his neighbour’s fence

A promoter was placed on self-bail when he appeared in court before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday to answer a charge of maliciously damaging his neighbour’s fence.

Kerwin Bollers

Kerwin Bollers pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously damaging a fence valued at $35,000 on April 10 at 48 Public Road, Kitty, property of John Apiguar.

Bollers, 31, of 49 Public Road, Kitty told the court that on the day in question he was changing an overhead tank in his yard when it fell on Apiguar’s fence, damaging the chain links on the fence.

He said he offered to have it fixed. Apiguar told him that he wanted the fence straightened and he agreed to have it done.

He said he was required to buy an entire reel of chain link to replace the damaged part but his neighbour raised an objection after he had done so, saying that the chain link which Bollers had purchased was inferior  and he wanted the exact material.

Bollers was then placed on self-bail and the matter put down for June 14.
