‘Dutchy’ and ‘Tiffany’ used ice pick to rob man of car and other items

Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday ordered that a 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl who allegedly used an ice pick to rob a man of a car among other items be remanded to prison when they appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Collin Brian called ‘Dutchy’ and Shonnett Thomas called ‘Tiffany’ were not required to enter pleas to the joint indictable charge of robbery under arms.

The duo denied that on July 31, being armed with an ice pick, they robbed Gerald Baptiste of two gold rings, a gold chain, a cell phone, a pair of sun glasses and a motor car, all totalling $2,856,000.

The prosecution requested that the duo be remanded

to prison and a date set for a report on the Administration of Justice Act (AJA) which would change the charge into a summary one allowing the duo to plead.

The prosecution also informed the magistrate that Brian currently has four matters in her court pending, all similar in nature to this case.

The magistrate ordered that the duo make another court appearance on August 10.
