Taxi driver denies wounding workmate

Gregory Cassius, 31, of North East La Penitence, was on Tuesday granted bail in the sum of $30,000 when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court accused of maliciously wounding a man with whom  he had a fight.

The taxi driver pleaded not guilty to the charge of unlawful wounding when Magistrate Priya Beharry read it to him.

He denied that on July 31 at Norton Street, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Troy Bovell who is also a taxi driver attached to the same firm where he works.

The magistrate then issued an arrest warrant for Troy Bovell who was also charged for wounding Cassius.

Prosecutor Stephen Telford stated that the men were involved in an argument which escalated into a fight and that they both injured each other.

The magistrate ordered that Cassius make another court appearance on September 7 at Court Two.
