Remanded over north west wounding

A man accused of wounding another was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive–Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on July 20 at the North West District, Roger Braithwaite unlawfully and maliciously wounded Noleen Bernard with intent to maim, disfigure or case grievous bodily harm to the said Noleen Bernard.

Braithwaite was not required to plead to the indictable charge of felonious wounding when it was read to him by the Magistrate.

The Police Prosecutor made an application that the accused be remanded to prison because of the serious condition of the virtual complainant who is still hospitalized.

The defendant was later remanded to prison. His matter was transferred to the Matthew’s Ridge Magistrate’s court for November 2.
