Richmond cyclist dies in crash

A pedal cyclist became the latest road fatality yesterday when he was struck down by a motor lorry on the Anna Regina Public Road.

Ronald Gadrinauth, 47, of Richmond, Essequibo, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Suddie Hospital.

According to a police press release, the fatal accident occurred around 1530 hours and the driver of the lorry is in police custody assisting with investigations.

Investigations have so far revealed that the pedal cyclist was proceeding along the roadway when he was struck down by motor lorry GLL 8953.
