Guyhoc Park teen remanded over gunpoint robberies

A teenager accused of two counts of robbery under arms  committed the same day against two different persons was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

The allegation is that on August 17 at Georgetown, Keith Tute, 19, of lot Q 78 Guyhoc Park being armed with a gun robbed Melbourne Blackman of gold jewellery valued $130,000.

On the same day also the accused, being armed with a gun, is alleged to have robbed Oneka Blackman of items totalling $63,000

The defendant pleaded not guilty to both charges when they were read to him by the magistrate.

The unrepresented Tute was later remanded to prison. He was ordered to return to court on August 31.
