CIOG urges Muslims to continue to seek higher levels of Taqwa

The Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) extends Eid Mubarak greetings to Muslims as they end the month of Ramadan and urges them to achieve a higher level of spirituality.

In a press release CIOG President Fazeel M Ferouz said the objective of fasting is to achieve the quality of Taqwa which must be carefully guarded. He urges Muslims to continue their five daily prayers, recitations and study of the Qur’an and other observances in order to draw closer to Allah.

Ferouz also urged Muslims not to neglect their responsibilities to other Muslims and to work at the level of the masjids or with the CIOG to “examine the needs of our community and work together…to see how we can satisfy those needs.” He said after the purifying month of Ramadan Muslims this will help Muslims live in a manner that will help them to achieve a higher level of Taqwa and “with this new state of consciousness reflect on the condition of our community in Guyana and the status of the Muslims around the world.”
