Forestry Commissioner suffers sudden illness

Commissioner of Forests James Singh is said to be “responding well to medical attention and therapy at home” after recently proceeding on sick leave.

A statement from Agriculture Minister Robert Persaud yesterday said that Singh “proceeded on sick leave on Wednesday 8, September 2010, due to a sudden illness associated with high blood pressure and stress.” According to the statement, Singh is “expected to recover fully” and should return to his job shortly after his recovery.

The statement was released by the Minister following several queries about the health of the Forestry Commissioner.
