CXC students’ forum in Georgetown to be broadcast live via Internet

Secondary school students from Guyana and across the region will have an opportunity to directly interact with the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) which will be hosting a students’ forum on Wednesday, September 29 at Queen’s College auditorium in partnership with the Ministry of Education.

This activity allows students from other Caribbean countries to follow and participate in the forum via UStream, which will facilitate the live broadcast of the event from Guyana, the Government Information Agency (GINA) said in a press release on Friday.

Students can also send their comments and questions to the CXC Facebook (social networking website) site.
Registrar of CXC, Dr Didacus Jules stated that the organisation is taking a more pro-active approach in its outreach and the students’ forum is another new way of doing business. The use of the internet for live broadcast of the event also signals this new CXC paradigm.

The release stated that students will be able to raise their views and concerns about the examinations and programmes offered by CXC.
This forum also gives the council the opportunity to communicate with its largest audience, the students.

The panel for the forum includes officials from the Ministry of Education and officials from the Caribbean Examinations Council, the release added.
