A dazed Bibi Sharima Gopaul and her partner Jarvis Small were this afternoon jointly charged with the murder of her 16-year-old daughter Neesa Gopaul.

The duo, who were represented by attorney-at-law Vic Puran appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before  Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry around 2:45 pm.

It is alleged that between September 24th and October 2, they murdered the teen at Madewini, Soesdyke/Linden Highway.

The case has caused widespread public outrage and condemnation of those who failed to assist the teenager during a difficult period of abuse in varying forms prior to her death.

Her decomposing remains were discovered stuffed in a suitcase which was anchored in a creek. Her head was bashed in so that her remains appeared headless.
