The police early yesterday morning destroyed an acre of cultivated marijuana along with a camp, fertilizer and other items during an operation at First Creek, Kuru Kururu, Linden/ Soesdyke Highway and four persons have been taken into custody.
A release from the police said that the operation happened between 04:30 hrs and 07:30 hrs yesterday morning and involved ranks from Division ‘A’ Georgetown/East Bank Demerara.
The destroyed marijuana plants were between six and twelve inches tall and numbered about a thousand. The four in custody are assisting the police with investigations.
