Parents close gates of Bagotville primary over school’s condition

Parents of children at the Bagotville Primary School, West Bank Demerara, this morning shut the doors of the school over what they have described as its “terrible condition.”

One parent of the school told Stabroek News that they will not allow their children into the school’s building until “something is done.”

The parent said that there is only one teacher at the school and parents often times have to volunteer to ease the teacher’s work load.

“Is only one teacher, the toilet terrible the yard terrible and we decide to close down the school. We not getting help from anywhere, the NDC not helping us,” the parent told this newspaper.
