A 29-year-old Diamond Housing Scheme man was brutally stabbed to death at Ruimzeight, West Coast Demerara by a teenager during an early morning row today.
Dead is Jermaine Jones and according to Crime Chief Seelall Persaud the man sustained 14 stab wounds. He died before reaching the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was rushed shortly after the 5 am incident.
Stabroek News was told that Jones went to a house at Ruimzeight where he accused the teen of stealing a cellular phone and money. The teenager is related to Jones’ girlfriend who lives in the same house.
Reports say that Jones beat the teenager with a baseball bat. He managed to relieve the teenager of two knives. The argument later continued and the source said the teenager was seen repeatedly stabbing Jones.
The teen later fled in bloodied clothing. He was clutching the murder weapon and a plastic bag. The suspect is yet to be arrested.
