Charges against Dr Shamdeo Persaud dismissed after wife declines to proceed

Chief Medical Officer Dr Shamdeo Persaud today had charges of assault and threatening behaviour against him dismissed after his wife Romona Persaud told the court that she no longer wanted to proceed with the matter.

They were both ordered to pay $10,000 court costs.

Dr Persaud appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
