Dead fish were spotted yesterday floating in the Lamaha Canal, at its Sheriff Street location. Reports are that the fish were first spotted on Thursday but that more began to float up yesterday. Stabroek News understands that investigations are being conducted to determine the cause of this occurrence and to see whether the water may have been contaminated. The Lamaha Canal is Guyana Water Inc.’s main source of water.
