The Humanitarian Assistance Programme at the US Embassy donated 25 cots to the CIOG for distribution to needy persons along the Essequibo Coast. In a press release the CIOG said its representative Anwar Ali presented the cots to residents at Tapacuma Lake and Mainstay/Whyaka on Friday at a ceremony held at the Al Madinah Islamic Academy, Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast. Residents said they were profoundly grateful to the CIOG and the Embassy for the donation. In picture: Ali (left) presents a cot to a resident while other recipients look on.
