Men of Vision: 2010 Car-ibbean Awards for Excellence Laureate, Sydney Allicock (right) and Chairman of the ANSA McAL Foundation, Dr. Anthony N. Sagba (left) along with a gift of a bow and arrows given to him, pose during a reception to honour Allicock at the Georgetown Club last evening. Allicock was earlier this year named the Laureate in the Public and Civic Contributions category of the Awards. Allicock was chosen for the award because of his exemplary work in environment conservation; his efforts in protecting the interests of indigenous people and for creating a model of development which allows communities, government and business to participate in meaningful national growth. Previous Guyanese awardees include Annette Arjoon-Martins and Professor David Dabydeen. Last evenings’ reception was organized by ANSA McAl.
