Husband charged in murder of Essequibo Coast woman

The reputed husband of Nandranie Narine whose bloodied body was found in her unsecured Columbia, Essequibo Coast home was on Wednesday charged with her murder.

Suresh Persaud appeared before Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court and was later remanded to prison until December 14.

Narine was found with wounds to her face and head around 4 pm last Saturday.  The woman lived with her husband in an unfinished house and was last seen alive at around 8:30 am on the day she died. The gruesome discovery was made by her son, Talesh Narine, who had gone to visit her.
