Jamaica teen alleged to have killed cop

(Jamaica Observer) Special constable James Lemmie, who was attached to Spanish Town Police station, was killed, allegedly by a teenager, on Young Street, Spanish Town about 9:30 Monday night, the CCN said.

The alleged killer — 17 year old Radcliffe Foster of Ellerslie Pen, St Catherine — was fatally shot by another officer in the area, the police said.

Police reports are that the cop was shot by the teen, who had relieved him of his firearm.

Lemmie is the third policeman to be killed in the past several days.

Early Sunday morning, Special Corporal Jerome Cummings was killed outside his Langston Road home in Kingston.

The CCN said Cummings, 32, was shot by men who ambushed him as he was about to enter his home about 4:00 am.

Cummings’ killing came less than a week after the death of Corporal Omar Duncan, who was shot dead by gunmen in Ramble, Hanover last Monday. Meanwhile, a constable was also shot and injured yesterday morning when members of a police team engaged gunmen in a firefight in Parker Beach, Clarendon.

Two men — one identified as Clarendon’s most wanted Milton Lewis, also called ‘Askel’ or ‘Forty-five’ — were killed by the police in the gunfight.
