Boy dies in Timehri crash

A 12-year-old has become the latest road fatality after he was struck down on the Timehri Public Road on Tuesday night.

Police yesterday in a release said they are investigating the accident which occurred around 9.30pm. Investigations thus far have revealed that Kevin James of Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara was attempting to cross the road when motor car PJJ 9636 was proceeding along the roadway and struck the boy.

James was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The driver is in custody assisting with investigations the police said.
