President is right not to be swayed by BBC, CNN reports on Iran post-election upheavals

Dear Editor,
I am pleased that President Jagdeo and his team visited Iran to strengthen the relationship with the Islamic state and not allow himself to be dictated to by those Western leaders who want to impose sanctions against Iran just because the country is preparing itself for defence against an Israeli attack, which is being instigated by the said Western powers.

I further agree with the President about not being swayed by the CNN and BBC, etc, in their reports on the after-election upheavals in Iran.

President Ahmadinejad must know he and his country have friends and admirers on this side of the globe.

Locally I feel that GAWU should name their labour college after Andrew Jackson. After all, he was the only trade union leader then who attended the unveiling of the Critchlow monument in Parliament compound by the then Premier Cheddi Jagan in 1963.
Yours faithfully,
WP George
