The South Dakota access road should be fixed

Dear Editor,

I wish to point out that I am an ardent fan of motor racing in Guyana and I wish to commend the GMR&SC for its tireless efforts to put on a show year after year at the South Dakota circuit. While I have no major concern with the way the events are organized, I wish to voice my concern with regard to the dilapidated state of parts of the access road. I normally traverse this road at least three times per year to view one of the biggest sporting events in Guyana. Editor, I have been doing this for years and it is to my disappointment that nothing has been done to repair the deteriorating parts of the road of which I speak.

Editor, I unequivocally wish to state that I have no knowledge of the agency or organization responsible for repairing the road, but I wish that the relevant persons could intervene and perhaps do something before they host the events on the 2010 calendar.

Motor racing at the South Dakota circuit generates an amazing fan base, but unfortunately with all that financial support and commitment by the fans, we are continually forced to endure a bumpy ride on our way to support local sportsmen/women.  I call on those responsible to consider the plight of the many fans and possible damage to their vehicles and act before the situation worsens and the road is rendered impassable.

Yours faithfully,
Josh Rodrigues
