Boyo was always concerned for the welfare of his fellow man and country

On behalf of my wife, Angela (Rani), family, and I, deepest condolences are extended to Brigitte and family, on the sudden passing of ‘Boyo’ Ramsaroop. He had been a dedicated political activist within the PPP in his early and later life, always concerned for the welfare of his fellow-man and the country, Guyana, he loved so much.

He was a founder/member of TAG (the Tourism Association of Guyana, now THAG) in 1991 and was also a vibrant member of several Tourism teams including some I led to Caracas (Venezuela), St Thomas (VI), and Berlin (Germany). His love of nature is evident in the hard work he and Brigitte put in in developing and maintaining the once late Mr Thompson’s unique garden in Timehri, later known as their famous “Double B Gardens”.

We enjoyed both Boyo and Brigitte’s hospitality at the ‘Farm’ which they landscaped beautifully, and recommended the ‘hot baths’ from its warm waters.

Always remembering his exotic and beautiful flowers including a variety of heliconias, and the pride they both took in satisfying their customers both locally and overseas.

Boyo was a competent electrical engineer at the Nagasar Sawh Ltd’s Sawmills at Byderabo Point, Bartica. He got along well with both management and staff.

He was enterprising and independent in thinking and subsequently, with Brigitte, who was equally enterprising and supportive, acquired the beautiful “Farm” in Timehri.

Boyo was instrumental in the formation of TAG as he led a team of Tourism Developers to the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Industry in 1991 to discuss problems and sought assistance for this vibrant sector.

He had reasons to speak favourably of his accomplishment for his band of entrepreneurs in the then fledgling sector.

I was happy to have sung, though amateurishly, the song “Dil Mein Chupake Pyar ka”  from the Indian movie ‘Aan’ on his 50th birthday at the Pegasus over twenty years ago. I remember the unique delicious red-like prickly-haired Rambutan he would bring from his Gardens for us to relish. And, he brought some heliconia plants too!

It was nice to have read about his accomplishments and dreams of a united Guyana; it was sad to learn of his disappointment at the Party he loved so much; but it was good to know, that Gerhard has stood by his side and he, by Gerhard’s side, supporting each other in an attempt to contribute to the development of Guyana. It is our hope and prayers that the cherished memories of Boyo will bring comfort to Brigitte, Gerhard and his siblings, grand-children, family and friends.

“We could only wish you Fond Farewell Friend”, and, “May Your Soul Rest in Peace”.

Yours faithfully,
Dharam Sawh & family
