Gutters and alley in part of Queenstown need to be cleaned properly

Dear Editor,

Yesterday the alleyway between Crown and Lance Gibbs Streets was weeded and some of the bush left at the head of the alley. Unfortunately the alley was not dug to remove the blockage at the bottom, so the water level remains the same.

Last Wednesday, April 14, the rain fell and my bottom house was flooded. If the alley is not cleaned of the blockage I am afraid it will keep being flooded as soon as it rains.

The gutters around the same block which is bordered by Oronoque and New Garden Streets are also filled to almost the top without any rainfall. It appears as though Crown and Lance Gibbs Streets bordered by Oronoque and New Garden Streets are the two lowest in Queenstown, as none of the other streets are flooded. Therefore I am really appealing to have the gutters and alley really cleaned properly.

Yours faithfully,
