Parents of children who died need counselling support

Dear Editor,

Since the death of young Kelvin Fraser I have been losing sleep, every time I think how this youth lost his life. Then there is the death of little Dacwaun Sutherland. According to reports the child was most times seen in the company of his mother, and on the rare occasion when he walks alone he goes missing and later his body is found floating in a canal. How much more can parents do to keep their children safe?

I know I am not the only one losing sleep over the deaths of these children and so many others who died in such tragic circumstances. I sincerely hope the Ministry of Human Services as well as Red Thread, Mothers in Black and other such organizations are assisting in counselling the parents of these children. They need all the support they can get at this time.

Yours faithfully,
WP George
