My deepest sympathy go out to the relatives of Chateau Margot businessman, Dennis Ramah, who met his death at the hands of bandits while defending his family.
I wish to commend businessman and Chairman of the Community Policing Group, Rural Corporal Davenand Shyamraj, who went to the assistance of his fellow businessman.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, the Commissioner of Police and the National Community Policing Executive should reward and promote this true crime fighter for his bravery, prompt response to the call of duty and dedicated service to his community. Although he was injured and hospitalised in the confrontation, he was responsible for the apprehending of the bandits.
Rural Corporal Davenand Shyamraj should be promoted to Rural Sergeant in the Rural Constabulary.
