Pacesetters, Eagles secure wins in GABA league competitions

Courts Pacesetters defeated Beepat Scorpions 70-58 while Eagles defeated Colours Panthers in overtime Saturday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) Open and third division league competitions respectively.

Sharpshooter Stephon Gillis poured in the game-high 24 points while Naylon Loncke, 15, Royston Siland 11 and Horace Hodges 10 were the other Pacesetters players to reach double figures.

Trevor Mc Leod was the top shooter for Beepat Scorpions with 13 points while Jermaine Foster contributed 12 and Jermaine Lovell, 10.

In the third division encounter Eagles Mark Wills hit a three pointer at the buzzer to knot the scores on 69 and send the game into overtime where Eagles prevailed 75-74.

Adrian Hooper scored the game –high 23 points for Eagles while Wills scored 20 and Linden Smith 19.
Jacob Lowe was the top shooter for Colours Panthers with 19 points while Yannick December and Yannick Wade contributed 16 and 10 points respectively.

The competition continued last night with another double-header.
