Twenty-six U19 rugby players have been called up by the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) to prepare for possible selection on the national team U19 team to contest the NACRA U19 15 a-side tournament in August, a release from the GRFU stated yesterday.

The championship is expected to be contested by teams from the following countries, Cayman Islands, Mexico, Bermuda, Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana but the venue has not yet been decided.

According to the release training will commence from 4pm this afternoon   at the National Park rugby ground.

The winning team will qualify for the final of this year’s IRB Junior World Trophy tournament.

The players called to practice are: Allain Crawford, Carl Lewis, Christopher Nicholas, Claude Alexander, Clinton Mars, Clive Richmond, Dennis Alexander, Gavin Thompson, Jermaine Abel, Jermaine Jacobs, Joseph Weatherspoon, Kevon Campbell, Mark Massiah, Nicholas Northey, Quincy Jones, Richard Coates,

Rickford Cummings, Rondell McArthur, Rudolph Ogle, Soren Cox, Terry Adams, Treon Emptage, Trevor Mathieson, Twain Hemerding, Vallon Adams and Yannick Jones.
