Banks Dominoes team suffers mixed fortunes

The beverage giants were beaten into second position last Friday with Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) securing victory with 72 games with Banks a close second on  71 while Ministry of Local Government (MLG) occupied the cellar position on 70 games in the match which featured three male and three female players in each team.

Leading the way for GRA were Calvin Kelvin with 16 games and Rajesh Willie on 15.

Orin Sandy recorded 15 games for Banks while Owen Grannum and Sherry Martin secured 14 games apiece.

Delon La Rose led the way for MLG with 14 games while his teammate Clare Kendall was the lone lovebird in the match.

Banks with 83 games came out winners against Ministry of Home Affairs 71 and Ministry of Housing and Water on the carpet with 63 games in their encounter.

Beverly McDonald of Ministry of Housing marked the maximum 18 games in a losing cause.

Shawn Butters, Shawn Stephney and A. Sagon recorded 15 games each for the winners while S. Joseph was the top marker for Home Affairs with 15 games.

Meanwhile, in a feature Tapeball cricket match Banks Head Office defeated Citizens Bank by 72 runs Friday evening under lights at Thirst Park ground.

Batting first, Head Office rattled up 174 runs and then dismissed Citizens Bank for 102.

Former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd met the teams before the start of play and among the other dignitaries present at the encounter were Banks DIH Chairman Clifford Reis, Citizens Bank General Manager Frances Parris, and Attorney-at-Law Miles Fitzpatrick.
