Reece, Dick recognized by B/ce businessmen

The Flying Ace cyclist, whose coach is Randolph Roberts, was the recipient of a monetary incentive of $45,000 and a trophy from his sponsor Faizal Ally at the club’s award ceremony recently.

Reece also received one of six food hampers donated by Ricks and Sari Group of Companies Limited.

Other awardees were Wasim Hasnoo, Rohan Persaud, Nashanee Jaundoo, Ravindra Karim and Margaret Kumar.

Jaundoo copped the award for the most outstanding cyclist from Upper Corentyne while Karim was adjudged the most outstanding BMX rider and Kumar rewarded for outstanding voluntary service over the years.

Media personnel Tracy Leitch and Devi Sitaram were rewarded for their contributions.

Meanwhile Marika Dick, a student of the New Amsterdam Multilateral School, was also rewarded for her outstanding performances last year.

Dick, the national female cycling champion, represented Guyana at last year’s Inter Guiana Games in Suriname copping gold and a silver medal.

Dick also won all the races she participated in locally.

Contractor and businessman Dhanasar Ramnarace of Vryheid, has decided to sponsor Dick this year.

Ramnarace urged Dick to continue to be disciplined and promised to assist her through her coach Roberts.
