Fudadin and Campbell are RHTYSC male and female cricketers of 2009

Assad Fudadin and Shemaine Campbell were adjudged the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC) male and female cricketers of the year respectively and will be honoured on March 28 when the club hosts its 19th annual awards ceremony at the J.C. Chandisingh Secondary School.

A total of $2.5M worth of trophies, medals, prizes, gifts and donations will be distributed to numerous organizations and individuals.

National middle order batsman and RHTYSC senior vice captain Fudadin, will receive the highly-coveted Cricketer of the Year 2009 Award and  $250,000 worth of prizes including cash, cell phones, electrical equipment, gold jewellery, a bicycle and cricket gear.

National and West Indies female cricketer Shemaine Campbell will receive $100,000 worth of prizes as the Female Cricketer of the Year.

Among the other awards to be presented would be the Disciplined Player of the Year, Most Promising Player, Under-15 Player of the Year, Best Fielder and Under-19 Player of the Year.

Ten youth cricketers will also be honoured as future stars of RHTYSC while several schools, NGOs and the Berbice Cricket Board  (BCB) are scheduled to receive donations from the club.

Sponsors and members of the media would also be presented with gift packages as a thank you gesture for their support of the club’s activities. The club during the function would also be hosting the fourth edition of the Lower Corentyne Outstanding Students Awards Programme.

Forty-eight students drawn from nine schools in the Lower Corentyne area will receive a total of $500,000 worth of educational hygiene materials for outstanding performances at the 2009 End of Year Exams and Sports.

Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster is expected to deliver the 2009 Club Report while other speakers at the ceremony will include Club Patron June Mendes, RHTYSC President Keith Foster and Regional Chairman Zulfikar Mustapha.

Representatives of the club’s official sponsors – Bakewell, Farfan & Mendes, Gizmos & Gadgets, DDL Pepsi, Metro and GT&T Cellink are also expected to make remarks.
