MUMBAI, India, CMC – India’s selectors are set to meet next Friday to choose a 15-man squad which will do battle at the World Twenty20 Championship in the West Indies next month.

India are widely viewed as a strong T20 unit and have already been installed as one of the contenders for the title in the Caribbean when the tournament bowls off from April 30 to May 16. “The meeting of the selection committee to pick the team for the ICC World T20 event is scheduled in Mumbai on March 26,” the Press Trust of India quoted a BCCI source as saying. Convenor of selectors Test batsman Kris Srikkanth will sit down with his five-man panel as they seek to whittle down the 30-man provisional squad.

The squad is packed with strong T20 players like dashing openers Virender Sehwag and Guatam Gambhir, along with the big-hitting captain MS Dhoni and the elegant Yuvraj Singh.
