Declaring the team as the “finest selected” Holder urged the players to feel proud over their selection to represent Guyana at the tournament which stars tomorrow in Trinidad and Tobago.

Holder, Public Relations Officer of the Guyana Cricket Board, told the youngsters that Guyanese will be following the progress in Trinidad with hopes that the team will make them proud.

Suggesting that he strongly felt that the team will not let them down, Holder encouraged the players to have fun and make friends even as they strive to perform to their maximum potential and win.

He also gave a brief background of his cricket past which started at Queen’s College adding:”This country has a proud tradition in cricket and has produced talented cricketers.”

The players were advised to follow the footsteps of those cricketers who established their cricketing careers at the under-15 level and went on to represent the West Indies.

Also speaking at the dinner was Manager Elroy Stephaney who said that the team was eager to perform well and be part of history by being the first Under-15 team to win the regional tournament for Guyana.
