Allen sends opponent to hospital with broken nose

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York, CMC – Lennox “Too Sharp” Allen sent Amador Acevedo to the hospital following their non-title fight on Saturday here.

Allen, a Guyanese super-middleweight, kept his unbeaten record in place, when he took care of Acevedo in their six-round contest at the Mid Hudson Civic Center.

The Puerto Rican Acevedo had his nose broken, and was one of three fighters to visit the hospital for X-rays following the first card at the venue since November 2004.

Allen, a Brooklyn, New York-based fighter, who has also spent time living in Australia, is now 11-0, after the unanimous decision which also left his opponent nursing a professional record that now includes seven losses and one draw in his 11 fights.

Judge Bill Costello scored the bout 59-53, Steve Epstein 59-54, and George De Gabriel 58-55 all for Allen.
