Nigel’s, IPA and H. Mohamed give financial boost to HRC Bodybuilding & Fitness Championship

As preparations  heighten for the second edition of the Hugh Ross Classic (HRC) Bodybuilding & Fitness Championship, the organisers have received a further boost  to ensure a well run competition with the financial support of three business entities.

On Monday, International Pharmaceutical Agency on Camp Street, H. Mohamed General Store, a Licensed Firearm Dealer on Robb Street, and Nigel’s Supermarket all made tangible contributions towards the May 2nd event set for the National Cultural Centre.

IPA Group Finance Controller Reginald Persaud in brief remarks after the handing over which took place at their Camp Street Headquarters said his company was happy to be a part of the competition yet again.

Persaud, a keen weights trainer, said they have supported the just-concluded and successful Caribbean Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships which was hosted by the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation.

“We are more than pleased to be on board with the HRC and know that the competition will be very keen and exciting. We would like to take this opportunity to wish the athletes all the best and encourage them to give of their best on competition night. IPA will continue to support the continued growth of local sports.”

IPA, like many other companies, will be displaying their products in the foyer of the National Cultural Centre on the afternoon of the competition.

Manager of H. Mohamed General Store, National and Caribbean Rifle Shooting headliner Ransford Goodluck said that his entity was more than pleased to partner the HRC to bring off this championship.

Goodluck noted that he appreciated that hard work and astute planning had to be the order of the day for success to be achieved and he was quite certain that the HRC would do nothing less than bring off a great show.

“We at H. Mohamed General Store are also aware that the athletes have to put in a lot of work in order to bring their bodies to the required standard to be a standout on the night of competition. It is our desire to continue to support local development and we are more than humbled to be a part of this great championship.”

Shawnette Young, Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of Nigel’s Supermarket noted that their business was a part of the inaugural HRC Bodybuilding & Fitness Championship and had no hesitation to be onboard again.

Young complimented the HRC committee for bringing off the competition again and  encouraged Guyana as a whole to exercise and eat healthy, adding that the positive results from such a lifestyle are phenomenal.

“I want to take this opportunity to compliment all the athletes who will be competing and to let them know that they are all winners even though someone has to standout as the overall winner.”
