Chandrika hits 88 in Trinidad

National opening batsman Rajindra Chandrika continued his impressive form in Trinidad striking 88 for Cosmos in their South Zone Senior division match against Clarke Rochard recently.

Chandrika thrilled the crowd at Penal, showing his class, as he smashed a half century to lead his team to 257. Clarke Rochard battled well but fell short of by two runs of getting first innings being dismissed for 256.

Elsewhere, Ron Ramnauth got that elusive century as he scored 104 for Debe Youth Foundation in their clash against Poonah at Debe. Ramnauth’s innings  led his team to an impressive nine-wicket victory. His century came on the back of his unbeaten innings of  88 in the last round. Ramnauth and another Guyanese Paul Bevaun 98 not out, was left stranded after the umpires walked off in the last game.

Across in Penal, leaders San Francique United continued their race to the title, denying HYO a victory. Batting first HYO got to 226 all out and San Francique replied with 155. Guyanese Rajiv Ivan struck 30. Batting a second time HYO recorded 231 with Ivan taking 3/61. Set a victory target off 303 runs, San Francique fought to reach 285/7 at the end. Ivan struck a quickfire 48 in the effort.
