Meusa stages Independence Youth Challenge chess tournament today

National Chess Champion, Wendell Muesa, will stage an Independence Youth Challenge chess tournament today at the American University of Peace Studies on Sheriff Street.

Registration for the tournament will begin at 8:30hrs and a registration fee of $500 per player will be charged.

The tournament will officially begin at 9:00hrs and all games will be played in the Open category.

Some 15 to 20 participants are expected to take part in the tournament including Rashad Hussein, Ron and Raan Motilall and Junior National Champion, Cecil Cox.

Trophies will be presented to players in the top three categories.
