Giftland OfficeMax on Friday donated a quantity of volleyballs to the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF).
The ceremony held at the company’s head office on Water Street.
The donation will greatly assist the GVF who will embark on a training camp for youths desirous of learning the sport in the Joe Vieira Park, West Coast Demerara area.
Receiving the volleyballs on behalf of the federation was national coach Jadeshwar Doolchand, who expressed his gratitude to Giftland OfficeMax for the gesture.
He added that he was enthusiastically looking forward to making the project a success.
Doolchand said that the programme is a collaborative effort between the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the GVF.
Speaking on behalf of the sponsors Compton Babb, Marketing Manager of Giftland OfficeMax, said his company was really pleased to be connected with the GVF and its programme for youths in West Demerara.
