GCB Digicel Summer Smash 20/20 First day of Berbice Zone washed out

The first day of the Berbice Zone of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Digicel Summer Smash 20/20 tournament was washed out after overnight and early morning rain yesterday at Port Mourant Community Centre Ground.

The matches, which were supposed to have been played between Upper Corentyne ‘Free Weekend’ and West Berbice ‘Free Talk’ and West Berbice ‘Free Talk’ clashing with New Amsterdam ‘Free Credit’ will now be played today at the same venue. Upper Corentyne ‘Free Weekend’ will now play New Amsterdam ‘Free Credit’ tomorrow at the PMCC Ground.

Meanwhile, Royston Crandon, Homchand Pooran and Devendra Bishoo were named as the captains for the teams.

Royston Crandon’s team includes Sewnarine Chattergoon, Richard Ramdeen, Rajiv Ivan, Raid Ally, Videsh Singh, Jason Sinclair, Sherwin Murray, Esuan Crandon, Yogeshwar Harinarine, Keyron Fraser, Steven Latcha, Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai, Kevin Ramdeen and Sasenarine Sukhdeo.

Devendra Bishoo’s team has  Eon Abel, Keon Joseph, Eon Gibson, Shailendra Shameer, Krisendat Ramoo,  Mankarran Singh, Romain Boodram, Devon Clements, Renwick Batson, Ranga Latchana, Imran Khan, Jonathan Foo and Delbert Hicks.

Homchand Pooran is controlling the squad that includes Shaffeek Khan, Harrinarine Chattergoon, Keith Fraser, Anthony De Andrade, Eon Hooper, Anthony Bramble, Tavendra Takurdeen, Troy Mathieson, Leroy Bristol, Shasrie Persaud, Michael Newland, Kelon Henry, Peter Grimes, Kwesi Mentore and Moshin Perkhan.
