Royal Youth Movement come out tops at De Gold Striders Games

The Royal Youth Movement athletics club dominated the De Gold Striders Games when the event rolled off yesterday at the Police Sports club Ground, Eve Leary.

With national sprinter Alicia Fortune leading the way, Royal Youth Movement ended on 585 points. In second place was the coalition of Running Braves and Rising Stars athletics clubs on 521 points. Trailing in third place was the collaboration of Mercury and Encore athletic clubs with 212 points.

Tutorial High School placed fourth with 91 points while Ruralites scored 32 points before ending their participation early.

Fortune and Ashley Tasher each scored 31 points but Tasher was adjudged champion female athlete of the meet.

Fortune secured two wins and placed third and fifth in her other two events while Tasher also had two wins and a second place and a fourth placed finish.

The champion male athlete was Cleveland Thomas.

The winning teams received trophies yesterday.
