The pair played out a frenetic match on the court, in the first of the night’s two matches. Lewis marched through the first set with easy games from Lopes, but faced spirited competition in the second set.

But in the end it was Lewis who proved that he was the best of the best, taking the tournament title.

In the other match of the night, Jeremy Miller progressed to the men’s singles semi-finals after he defeated Leyland Leacock 6 – 1, 6 – 4.
