U-19’s off to St Lucia

The national under-19 cricket team was treated to a farewell dinner Monday evening at the Water Chris Hotel prior to their departure for St. Lucia to represent Guyana in the TCL Group West Indies Cricket Board’s Under-19 Tournament.

The under-19 squad departed Guyana yesterday morning and will play their first match tomorrow against the Leeward Islands on the opening day of the tournament.

Present at the dinner was Director of Sports, Neil Kumar and acting president of the Guyana Cricket Board, Bissoondial Singh.

The two extended best wishes to the team which will compete in the three-day and one day tournaments.

Kumar encouraged the squad to be disciplined and strive to deliver their best on and off the field in an effort to be good Guyanese ambassadors in the upcoming tournament.

The tournament ends on August 6.
