Local golfers prepare for Trophy Stall tourney with eye on weather

Local golfers will be looking for an improvement in the weather as they prepare for the Annual Trophy Stall Medal Play tournament on Saturday at the Lusignan Golf course.

Rain washed out the Sanjay’s Jewellery and the Club’s Executive tournaments last Saturday and Monday.

Club Captain Patrick Prashad said that a new date for Sanjay’s Jewellery tournament will be announced shortly.

Saturday’s tournament will tee off at 12:30 hours with a shotgun start but players are requested to be at the venue by 12:15 hours.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three players with the best net scores as well as Nearest to the Pin at hole number 8 and longest drive at the number 5 fairway.

Managing Director of Trophy Stall Ramesh Sunich  is expected to be on hand  to assist in the presentation of prizes.
Players listed to take part include Avinda Kishore, Mohanlall Dinanauth,   Muntaz Haniff, Boloram Deo, Patrick Prashad, Lester Alvis, Carlos Adams, Maurice Solomon, Ian Gouveia, Colin Ming, Robert Hanoman, Clifford Reis, Mark Lashley, Mike Guyadin, Imran Khan, Mike Mangal, Dr. Ram Singh, Brian Hackett, Gavin Todd, Albert Semple, Mel Sankies, Melissa Humphrey and William Walker.

Meanwhile, Guyana will be represented by a strong team at this year’s RBTT sponsored Suriname Open championships slated for August 20-21 in the neighbouring republic.

The tournament will feature golfers from French Guiana, Guyana, Netherlands Antilles and the Netherlands.
