Meanwhile, Guyana’s lightweight champion Clevlon Rock lost his bid to add a CAC medal to his 2008 Junior Commonwealth silver medal when he lost to Dominica’s Wellintong Arias 18-3 in Puerto Rico on Friday evening.

According to the CAC Games website,  the amateur bout was a one-sided affair with Arias, who fought out of the red corner in the 60kg category, taking the first round 11-1, the second 4-2 and the third 3-0.
Guyana’s hopes now lie on the shoulders of the five other boxers in Puerto Rico.
