The sixth edition of the GBBC/GABA Friday Night Fights is building momentum.
On Tuesday Pauline London added fuel to the fire by promising to pulverise Debbie Tyson tomorrow night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
“I am going to bust her mouth. She cannot take this power and it will be a tough road for her so don’t leh she underestimate me,” Pauline retorted.
London will be fighting Tyson, who has two professional fights, for the first time.
There was a lot of thrash talking Tuesday at the National Communication Network (NCN) studios with Tyson stating that.“London is a talk-up boxer and I am 110% sure that I will beat her.
“I can protect my mouth but is whether she can protect her own.”
Tyson assured reporters that she will be using the fight against London as a warm up prior to “fighting with the bigger fishes.”
She said that she has learnt from the mistakes of her last bout which she lost to Shelly “Agricola Boom” Gibson, declaring that this will be evident against London.
Both fighters have reiterated that they have been training hard for the bout and they will be looking to win convincingly.
Tyson said she was even more sure of victory because she is a natural athlete and is crafty, something that she has developed through hours of working in the gym.
In the main event between heavyweights Anthony Augustin and Kurt Bess, both fighters have expressed confidence that they will win on fight night. Augustin, who tends to fade after the second frame, revealed that he has been working on improving his conditioning.
According to Augustin he runs every morning and goes to the gym from 2.30pm everyday.
Augustin has not lost on the FNF card since his first appearance in May against Leon ‘The Lion’ Gilkes.
He said that he focuses on pad work and working on strategies for his opponent during his stints in the gym.
In the curtain raiser for the professional segment of the card, Shawn Pyle, who will be fighting for a CABOFFE title in August, will take on Mark Austin.
Pyle said he believes that Austin is no match for him simply because that fighter’s style opens itself to be easily taken apart.
In the fourth contest Troy Lewis, whose only blemish on the FNF card came at the hands of Guyana’s welterweight champion Iwan Azore, will take on Edmond De Clou.
Meanwhile in the amateur version of the Pro-Am card Keeve Allicock will fight Michael Jordan and Benjamin Henry will have his work cut out against Richard Williamson. Kelsey George is scheduled to challenge Rayon Hernandes and Ron Smith and Simeon Hardy will complete that roster.
