The 2010 Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport Mahdia Inter-Block Football Competition kicks off this evening at the Mahdia ground.

The opening encounter at 18:30 hours will feature the defending champions Airstrip, led by Captain John Joseph alongside Stefon Daniels, Harley Joseph, Kewin Hermon and Jomo Beckles coming up against Campbelltown. Meanwhile Captain Sherwin Da Silva and Rogan Wilkie will lead Campbelltown’s charge.

The feature event of the double header card will find RH Lions attempting to roar against Masters. RH Lions will be led by the Mendonca brothers Delroy, Ridley and Bobby and  Stephen Moore.

Mahdia businessman and sports enthusiast, Roger Hinds has provided a cash incentive as the first prize. Prior to the first game, Parliamentary Secretary in  the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport, Steve Ninvalle, will officially declare the competition open and perform the symbolic kick-off.

All matches will be played under floodlights and the feature game is scheduled to commence at 20:00 hours.
