Fitzgerald tops Open Singles of Granny’s Bar darts tournament

Reigning national champion Sudesh Fitzgerald easily disposed of Anil Lachman by a 2-0 margin in the Open Singles finals of Granny’s Hangout Bar darts tournament last Sunday at the bar’s location at Market Street, Better Hope.

Afeez Majid had to settle for the third spot in what was the latest of darts action held at the bar.

Fitzgerald had triumphed over Hubert Yearwod in the semi-finals, with the latter accounting for the scalp of former national champion Norman Madhoo.

Meanwhile, in the other semi-final, Lachman got the better of Majid.

However, Madhoo not being outdone teamed up with Lachman to capture the Draw Doubles, ahead of Sherwin Greene and Kishan Ramdeen, and Anthony Bissoondyal and Joshua Sahadeo, who emerged second and third respectively.

The Open Doubles game was won by Madhoo and Colin France who romped home victorious ahead of Greene and Bissoondyal. Placing third were Vibert Yearwod and Terrence De Mendonca.

Vinood Lumber & Pawn Shop, Ideal Food Supplies, Gems Mining and Zeco Industrial Workshop were the major sponsors for Sunday’s activities.

Meanwhile, darts action will continue on Friday from 19:00 hrs at Mark’s Darts Club, Brummel Place, Stabroek, compliments of Guyana Animal Health and Veterinary Products.

Trophies and cash incentives will be up for grabs.
